Ya'qub (Arabic: يَعْقُوب), son of Prophet Ishaq, the Prophet, was also called Isra'il (Arabic: إسرائيل "Servant of Allah"). His grandparents, Ibrahim and Sara, were given the tidings of his piety and prophethood. Ya'qub was the father of Yusuf. His 12 sons became the progenitors of the tribes of Isra'il. The names of 12 sons of Yaqub were Ravbeen Bakr, Sham’oon, Laavi, Yahuda, Visakar, Zabulun, Yusuf, Banyamin, Dan, Taftani, Haad and Ashir. Yaqub lived for 127 years and resided in Misr for 17 years. At the time of his death he expressed his last wish to his sons and told them to protect the rules and laws of their religion. He was buried in the ancestral graveyard in the south of the door Bab e oorjad.
