Al-Yasa or Elyas (Arabic: اليسع Al-yasaʻ, "My Illah is salvation"), was a devout prophet who performed the miracle of resurrecting a dead person. He is mentioned in the Holy Qur'an twice and in the Tawrat as well. He prophesied in the Northern Kingdom during the reign of Yahuram. Al-Yasha foretold Hazail's accession to the Syrian throne and, on his instructions, one of his followers anointed Yahu King of Bani Isra'il to depose the house of Ahab.
